Postnuptial Agreement

Postnuptial Agreement is an agreement between married spouses relating to the division of assets in the event of divorce. A Postnuptial Agreement is similar to a Prenuptial Agreement except that the parties sign the agreement after marriage.

A couple may want to do a Postnuptial Agreement if:

• There has been a change in financial status

If a spouse decides to stay-at-home with the children a postnuptial agreement can create peace of mind that the spouse will still be taken care of if there was a split.

• Wealth and Business Success

Postnuptial Agreements can be beneficial if one of the spouses inherits a large sum of money or if one of the other parties has started a business and wants to protect the partners of the business shares in the company from a split.
